There are many excellent medical blogs that can be found on the internet, but these blogs are all written by either Doctors or Nurses. Most of them offer medical advice and opinions, and there are a few that are used as outlets for some of these Dr’s and Nurses where they can share their experiences and stories in the medical industry. We searched the web for some of the most entertaining and captivating blogs by medical professionals, we hope you find them useful.

  1. Kevin MD – A blog run by Dr. Kevin Pho M.D. from New Hampshire.
  2. Gruntdoc – The ramblings of an emergency physician in Texas.
  3. Doctor Anonymous – Blog/Vlog run by a Family Physician. Definitely a very informative site with many guests giving their thoughts as well.
  4. Ask Dr. Joshua – Free Medical Questions and Answers plus Health Forum.
  5. Musings of a Distractible Mind – Thoughts of a moderately strange (yet not harmful) primary care physician.
  6. Ask an MD – A practicing M.D. that started a blog to answer your questions on doctors and the bizarre world of healthcare.
  7. Doc Gurley – An excellent medical blog run by Dr. Jan Gurley, a board-certified internist physician.
  8. Dr. Smak – A Family Doctor and Mother of 3 who blogs in her spare time.
  9. Dr. Wes’s Blog – Musings in the life of an internist, cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist.

  21. The Nursing Site Blog – A blog by Kathy Quan (RN BSN PHN) who has worked in the medical industry for over 30 years, on her blog and site she discusses all things nursing related.
  22. Scared to Health – A blog run by a registered nurse who has seen life from both sides of the health-illness continuum.
  23. The Adventures of Guitar Girl, RN – Here is a great blog that is written by a rock and roll musician (guitar and bass) as well as a Registered Nurse.
  24. A Nurse Practitioner’s View – A blog run by a family nurse practitioner in New York.
  25. Running a Hospital – This is a blog started by a CEO of a large Boston hospital to share thoughts about hospitals, medicine, and health care issues.
  26. Nurse Ratched’s Place – A nurse that writes composite stories about many different people that she has cared for over the years. Names, dates, and other identifying factors about patients and their family members have been changed to protect all parties.
  27. Mercola.com – A blogging project started by a Dr./Entrepreneur,  Joseph Mercola, covers all different types of medical news, facts, and opinions.
  28. Your ER Doc – Emergency room stories and answers to medical questions, written by a real ER Doctor.
  29. Weird Nursing Tales – Written by a male nurse that works as a Critical Care Float Nurse at a mid-sized hospital in mid-western North Carolina.
  30. Straight Talk from the Stanford ER – Exactly as it is titled, this is a blog that is written by the staff at the Stanford ER.
  31. Doctor David’s Blog – Musings of a Pediatric Oncologist.
  32. Edwin Leap – A site run by a Dr. where he discusses all types of things from life in general, medicine, and culture.
  33. Mothers in Medicine – A blog written by a trio of women who work in the medical industry and are also mothers.

  35. Dr. Greene – An excellent blog and site with all kinds of excellent medical advice and resources.

  38. Impacted Nurse – Ian Miller is a registered nurse with nearly 23 years experience working in the Emergency Department of a major teaching hospital in Canberra Australia. He has been around a while and seen some crazy stuff during his career.
